Send a wedding invitation on WhatsApp with a personal greeting and some context alongside the link. Name the invited guests and write the date in the message. Someone who receives a link without an explanation may ignore it or wonder whether you sent it by mistake.
Choose private conversations if you want to keep guests’ contact numbers private.
Check the recipients
Review who represents each household and which people you want to invite. Use names to make it clear whether the invitation includes a partner or children.
If the phone belongs to a relative who coordinates several replies, note whom they need to ask. Do not treat one household reply as a yes from every member.
Keep the contact list alongside the confirmations so you know whom you need to message later.
Introduce the link with useful details
You can use this delivery message:
Hi [names]. We would love you to join us for our wedding on [date] at [venue and city]. You can find the invitation and schedule at [link]. Please reply by [date] using the form. With love, [couple’s names].
Adapt the greeting to the recipient. This message introduces the page; the full schedule and address belong in the invitation. For longer versions, including email and reception-only wording, see our article on digital wedding invitation wording.
Spell out the month so guests can understand the date without guessing the order of the numbers.
Check the link before sending
Open the address in a browser where you have not signed in. Confirm that it leads to the published invitation and that a guest can find how to reply.
Send a test to someone you trust. Ask them to open the page and check the date and venue without extra instructions from you.
If you send an image, repeat the essential details in text. The guest can then read them without zooming in on the picture.
Record replies outside the chat
Ask guests to use the form, but accept another method when someone needs help. Set a reply deadline that leaves time to follow up, and use a polite reminder for anyone who misses it. Add the replies you receive by message to your guest record.
You can design the page in Our Yes Day on the web or on your iPhone, and view the example before creating yours. Check the published invitation and share its link from your WhatsApp conversation.
